The pelham can be used with one reins and connector, or with two reins. In any case, a chin strap or chain must also be attached. The pelham is suitable for "hot" horses, horses that have difficulty walking through the neck or in critical situations that require immediate, significant action (stinging, etc.). Due to the two different lever lengths (5cm or 7cm) of the suits, different degrees of impact on the mouth, lower jaw and neck can be achieved.
